Pak Actress Meesha Shafi Plays Farhan Akhtar's Best Friend In 'Bhaag Milkha Bhaag'

Pakistani model, singer and actress Meesha Shafi, who made her movie debut in Mira Nair's The Reluctant Fundamentalist, will next be seen in Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra's Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, which is a biopic on the life of athlete Milkha Singh. In the film, Meesha will be seen playing the role of Milkha's best friend.

Confirming the news, Meesha said, “Our cultural heritage and stories are so deeply rooted that it is only natural to relate to the cinema being made here. Art is definitely a universal language and just as Bollywood has a huge audience in Pakistan; Pakistani music has a vast listener-ship in India.” Further, she added, “Both countries are doing an immense service by bridging gaps and reaching out to the people. In fact, I would say that Bollywood and Pakistan have an age-old relationship.” 

Starring Farhan Akhtar, Sonam Kapoor, Dalip Tahil and Pavan Malhotra, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag is slated to release on July 12.
