Another shocking news comes for Bollywood, as talented filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar passes away. The filmmaker was 67 and had been suffering from illness for a couple of years. He was rushed to the hospital at 3 a.m. in the morning and took his last breath at 3.30 a.m. on March 24, 2023. May God rest his soul in peace.
Born in 1955, Pradeep Sarkar began his journey at the Delhi College of Art, graduating in 1979 with a gold medal. From a young boy listening to his father ask him if painting billboards is what he wants to do for a living, to helming a successful, full-fledged production house, it's been a long journey for Pradeep Sarkar.
Pradeep's production house shot highly successful commercials for Tata Yellow Pages, ICICI Prudential, and Onida KY Thunder, to name a few. After Editing Rajkumar Hirani's classic "Munna Bhai M.B.B.S" (2003), he debuted as a film director with "Parineeta" (2005). After that, he directed four more feature films: "Laaga Chunari Mein Daag" (2007), "Lafangey Parindey" (2010), "Mardaani" (2014) and "Helicopter Eela" (2018).
