Shah Rukh Khan received rave reviews for his performance as Rizwan Khan, a man with Asperger’s syndrome, in Karan Johar’s My Name Is Khan and KJo became quite emotional as the film turned nine today.

Karan thanked the film’s lead pair, SRK and Kajol writing, “#9YearsOfMyNameIsKhan ...I feel so blessed to have been able to tell this story....thank you for creating it @ShibaniWrites ....and thank you @iamsrk for living the role of Rizwan so beautifully and brilliantly... thank you @KajolAtUN for your eyes...your silences and more....”

Not many people know that Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra were assistant directors on the film, and Varun also went down memory lane and remembered his days as an AD. Varun shared a picture, with the film’s team writing, “#9YearsOfMNIK a film I learnt soo much on. It practically changed my life. Also this is the only picture I have where @abhivarman is smiling. Thank u @karanjohar.”

To his tweet, Johar replied, “So many brilliant memories I have !! Specially of you signing autographs when you were an AD ( not a star) and of SID’s stoic silences in the face of adversity!!! And ofcourse of @abhivarman smiling!! A rare sight!!!”

Sid and Varun later marked their Bollywood debuts with Johar’s Student Of The Year along with Alia Bhatt.
