Narendra Modi Wins Election

Narendra Modi has won the Varanasi seat for the third consecutive time in Lok Sabha election. However, the numbers are really shocking when we look back at the previous records.

One of the more shocking trends in the morning were when Narendra Modi was trailing behind in the first 2-3 rounds by 5 thousand votes. He eventually took the lead and won the seat by 1.5 lacs margin.

This 1.5 lacs margin is too low considering the results of Loksabha 2019 elections. PM Modi had won the same seat by a massive 5 lacs margin last time and this time the difference was not even half of it.

Ajay Rai of Indian National Congress got 4 lacs 60 thousand votes and he was leading in the beginning of vote counting. However, Narendra Modi took the lead eventually and managed to defeat Rai with 6 lacs 12 votes to his name.
