Rajinikanth Aamir Khan Coolie Titled Majdoor in Hindi:

Rajinikanth and Aamir Khan’s highly anticipated film Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is already considered one of the biggest pan-India releases of the year. As the film prepares for a grand pan-India rollout, the makers have come up with the Hindi title Majdoor. However, the title has not gone down well with many fans and netizens.

Soon after the Hindi title was revealed, the internet was flooded with reactions—most of them critical or mocking. Social media users are questioning the logic behind translating the title from English to Hindi, especially when Coolie is already a familiar and iconic word in Indian cinema.

Netflix's 200 crore fantasy series 'Rakt Bramhand' stalled; likely to be shelved due to budget woes –

Fans are arguing that the term Coolie holds nostalgic value, especially due to its association with past blockbusters like Coolie No. 1 starring Govinda and its remake with Varun Dhawan. “Why change a title that already resonates with audiences?” asked one user. Others felt that Majdoor lacked the cinematic appeal and massy flavour that Coolie inherently carried.

The backlash also included a wave of memes and sarcastic posts, with some calling the decision "unnecessary” and “tone-deaf marketing." With Majdoor set to clash at the box office with the much-awaited War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, questions are being raised about whether this title could dent the film’s hype in the Hindi belt.
