Rajkumar Santoshi, who is currently busy with their upcoming project, "Lahore 1947," has landed in a legal soup. The filmmaker has been sentenced to a 2-year jail term in cheques bounce case.

The court has also ordered Santoshi to pay the double amount to the complainant. Santoshi had taken a loan of Rs. 1 crore from the complainant, Ashok Lal, a resident of Jamnagar and the owner of Shreeji Shipping, in 2015 for a film. The director gave Ashok Lal 10 cheques of Rs. 10 lakh each, and all these cheques bounced in December 2016.

Rajkumar Santoshi had refused to pay the amount later, and finally today, the Jamnagar court ordered him to pay the double amount as well as sentenced him to a 2-year jail. No official word from Santoshi or his lawyer has come yet. It will be interesting to see how Rajkumar Santoshi reacts to the court's decision and how it will affect his upcoming projects.
