Ramayana, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, went on floors last month. The copyrights of the film were bought by Namit Malhotra from Madhu Mantena, but as per Mantena, he didn't receive the amount.
Mantena accused the new studio of copyright infringement and said that they shouldn't continue the project without paying him. After weeks, the notice came into effect, as the Ramayana shoot has been put on hold, as per a report in mid-day."The shooting continued for a few days after the notice, but has been on hold since last week. The matter has to be resolved legally, and filming will only resume when a consensus on the matter is reached,” a source told the media portal.
The report also added that the film is not shelved, and will be back on the floor once the producers sort this matter out. Nitesh Tiwari and Namit Malhotra are likely to commence shooting in three weeks.
