Ramoji Rao, the founder of the famous Ramoji Film City (Hyderabad) and Eenadu, passed away on Saturday, June 8,. 2024. He took his last breath at 3.45 a.m. while he was receiving treatment at Star Hospital. We, at Movie Talkies, pray for his soul to rest in peace.

Ramoji Rao was 87 years old and has been a very influential personality over the years. He owned Ramoji Film City, Eenadu newspaper, film production entity Usha Kiran Movies, and the regional ETV Network, which was later sold to the Network18 group.

He also held business ventures like the Margadarsi Chit Fund, the Dolphin Group of hotels, the Kalanjali shopping mall, Priya Pickles, and Mayuri Film Distributors.

He has been honored with four Filmfare Awards South, five Nandi Awards, the National Film Award, and Padma Vibhushan, India's second-highest civilian honor, for his contributions in journalism, literature, and education.
