Ranbir Kapoor, Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt's big-budget period action drama Shamshera was finally released yesterday. The film was carrying high expectations of trade and fans, but has failed to live up to the mark. Shamshera has seen a low opening on Friday, which makes things very difficult for its lifetime run.
YRF went all out with the screen size for Shamshera, grabbing 4350 screens in India. The overseas release is also wide with 1200 screens, making its worldwide screen count stand at a huge 5550 screens. However, the first day numbers haven't made as much money as the screen count.
Shamshera has collected approximately 10.50 crore nett on day one, which is a low total for such a big film. The film has performed well in the mass market, while urban audiences have stayed away from the theaters. Shamshera must score big numbers on Saturday and Sunday to save its neck.
