publive-imageOn the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, singer Rekha Bhardwaj and Wild Buffaloes Music, a label founded by short filmmaker and founder of Wild Buffaloes Entertainment, Divyansh Pandit, teamed up for a special Ganesh Aarti. The famous Aarti, Sukh Karta Dukh Harta, was revamped by the label to create a devotional rendition.

The music composers Semal Bhatt and Nikhil Kotibhaskar re-composed the Aarti and, subsequently, Divyansh approached the legendary singer, Rekha Bhardwaj, to grace it with her voice. Semal Bhatt expresses, “My team and I were extremely happy to have her on board."publive-imageFurthermore, the newness of this composition demanded a video that could justify the soulfulness and purity of the Aarti. This is when Divyansh came up with a concept for a music video wherein a little boy would be dressed up like Ganesha and walk around the streets to capture public reactions, hoping to create magic, and that actually happened. The music video was directed and edited by Shubhankar Jadhav, Sr. WBE and WBM Creative Producer.

Elaborating the concept of the music video, it showcases a little cute boy, dressed up like Ganesha, walking across the streets of Mumbai and distributing tiny Modaks to passersby. It was overwhelming to see how people touch the boy’s feet while others smile and take selfies with him. The icing on the cake was seeing families from diverse communities, who showcased utmost secularity and unity by embracing the little Ganesha.

When Divyansh was asked if he got the reactions that he expected, this is what he said, “When I thought of this concept, I was very sure that it would work because human emotions are the same across all class, creed and religions. Everyone loves children and if a child is decked up as Ganeshji, who would not find him cute? Every person on the street, be it a hawker, an office going traveler, a shopkeeper or people from diverse communities, admired the little Ganesha walking the streets and wore wide smiles on their faces. The experience was quite heartwarming.” This kind of a music video on a Ganesh Aarti, is quite an unprecedented one.

While this is the first song under WBM’s belt, the label is in the process of roping in many up-and-coming talents for their next songs. Besides, they are also in talks with a few music stalwarts, the names of whom, Divyansh would like to present them when the time is right.

When asked about his next project, he said his directorial debut Palatwar was announced recently. The film is being produced by Deepak Mukut and music by Ajay-Atul.
