The Supreme Court of India denied a plea against Bollywood actress Rhea Chakraborty on Friday, October 25, 2024. A bench of Justices BR Gavai and KV Viswanathan dismissed a petition filed by the CBI and the Bureau of Immigration contesting the Bombay High Court's revocation of the circular, calling it "frivolous." The judge also warned them not to waste their time on such a useless matter and don't misuse the law against someone because she is a celebrity.

Justice BR Gavai stated, "We are warning. You are filing such a frivolous petition only because one of the accused is a high-profile person. It will be with exemplary cost. Both persons have deep roots in society. If you want the cost and some compliments to the CBI, we will pass over."
