Salman Khan Tiger 3

Salman Khan's Tiger 3 is having an odd release on Sunday and that too on Laxmi Pooja Day. This day is known for a huge drop in the collection in the evening and night shows, which actually contributes a huge chunk to the overall collection. But the good thing is that it is a Sunday this time, and it's an opening day too.

When we look at the past few Diwali releases, it's clear that Laxmi Pooja Day costs almost 40-50% drop from the actual potential of a holiday. Which means Tiger 3 should be looking for a 40–45 crore nett opening on November 12, and then Monday will easily go up by 30-40%. But can it touch the 50 crore mark on day one?publive-imageTiger 3 will most likely get the biggest opening for Salman Khan ever and for any Diwali release as well. That's not just it, but it will also top that number 3 times in a row on the next 3 days- 13th November, 14th November and 15th November. There will be a drop on November 16th since the Diwali holidays will be over and people will be back to work, and there is a WC semi-final 2 on the same day. So, in the worst case, we can hope for 200-225 crores or more in the first 4 days during the peak Diwali period. That means it will be the highest-grossing film on Diwali in no time, beating Salman's own PRDP (267 crore gross).

Below are the top 5 opening days for Salman Khan:

Bharat (2019) - 41.62 crore

Prem Ratan Dhan Payo (2015) - 39.32 crore

Sultan (2016) - 36.59 crore

Tiger Zinda Hai (2017) - 34.12 crore

Ek Tha Tiger (2012) - 30.61 crorepublive-imageTiger 3 will be looking to beat Bharat's figure this Sunday to give the biggest opening to Salman Khan. The second day will be chasing the all-time single-day records of Pathaan and Jawan, and then the third day will be again looking for a 50 crore+ total. The fourth day can land somewhere in the same range, depending on how much India's semi-final match costs.

Tiger 3 has a challenge of World Cup matches too, but that can be covered in the coming days if the film is accepted by the masses. However, the problem is that all those important matches are on the holidays when the film is supposed to do well (12th November, 15th November, 19th November). Since India is playing the semi-final on the 15th, i.e., the Bhaidooj holiday, Tiger 3 will lose approx. 10% of its revenue. Then, on 19th November there is the biggest match, the World Cup 2023 Final, and if India plays that, Tiger 3 is likely to lose 25-30% of its business on the second Sunday. If you see, Tiger 3 will be facing two huge losses on both Sundays—the biggest scoring days for any film in Bollywood. Let's see how Tiger 3 tackles the odds and makes Diwali better for the box office. The standards are set high by Pathaan, Gadar 2 and Jawan, so it better do some record-shattering business.
