publive-imageScottish actor Sean Connery, who shot to fame after he played the role of British spy James Bond, has reportedly turned down an offer from Hollywood action star Sylvester Stallone to star in the next film in the Expendables series. The reason given by Conner's spokesperson was that the veteran actor has officially retired from acting.

Director Simon West was reportedly quoted saying that he would have loved to have Connery a part of the film series, which is famous for bringing together the stars of the Hollywood action genre. The last movie in the series had Stallone sharing screen space with Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
