Shah Rukh Khan's Jawan has officially broken the record set by Gadar 2 in Hindi markets. It's the third Bollywood movie of the year to break the lifetime record of the previous highest grosser after Pathaan and Gadar 2.
Pathaan (512 crore) surpassed Dangal (374 crore) after over 5 years, and then Gadar 2 crossed Pathaan within 7 months. Jawan was even faster, as it overtook Gadar 2 within a week and will finish its run by a bigger margin.With this, Shah Rukh Khan has scored his 3rd Record Grosser of his career. Previously, he had Chennai Express (208 crore), which crossed 3 Idiots (202 crore) and Pathaan in 2023. Interestingly, both times he crossed Aamir Khan's records. Aamir still holds the record for the most number of record grossers (5 movies- Ghajini, 3 Idiots, Dhoon 3, PK, Dangal), followed by Raj Kapoor (4 movies- Andaz, Barsaat, Awaara, and Shree 420) and Dilip Kumar (4 movies- Andaz, Aan, Naya Daur and Mughal-e-Azam). Now, SRK is the 4th Bollywood actor to have 3 all time grossers to his name.
Jawan has also confirmed its ALL TIME BLOCKBUSTER verdict, as it showed terrific hold in the 4th weekend. With 4.75 crore nett coming in on the 4th Friday, the action-drama is looking to cross the 550 crore nett mark in Hindi, opening a new club for the industry. This is the 4th All Time Blockbuster in Shah Rukh Khan's career after Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (1995), Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (1998), and Pathaan (2023).
