publive-imageA small plane assigned to the crew of Mena - a film starring Tom Cruise has crashed in Colombia, killing two people, including a Los Angeles-based film pilot, and seriously injuring a third, as per reports.

The aircraft crashed in the Colombian Andes on Friday. Thankfully, Cruise – who is a trained pilot – was not on the aircraft at the time as per the buzz.

The two people killed have been identified as American Alan David Purwin, a Hollywood pilot, and Colombian Carlos Berl. Another pilot, American Jimmy Lee Garind has been rushed to hospital in Medellin with serious injuries.

Cruise, 53, arrived in Columbia last month to start work on the movie, which depicts the story of a pilot who worked for the notorious drug lord Pablo Escobar.

We at MovieTalkies offer condolences to the near and dear ones of the departed.
