Srikanth had no competition from Bollywood at the ticket windows, yet the opening wasn't good. Well, it's a decent opening if you consider the face value and budget and compare them to recent disasters. Still, the evening push was missing, which was expected.Srikanth collected in the range of 2.30–2.40 crore nett on day one, making it a below average start. The film depends heavily on word of mouth from hereon and has to show a solid jump in collections over the weekend in order to make it a success.The Hollywood release, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, was helped by good support from the South. It lost to the new Bollywood release in Hindi markets but did better in South, collecting approx. 3-3.25 crore nett on the first day.
The film was expected to go higher but underperformed mostly because many multiplex audiences are only aware of one or two films in the franchise, which haven't done well at the Indian box office.
