Subrat Dutta was recently seen in an award-winning and critically acclaimed movie, “Guthlee Ladoo,” alongside Sanjay Mishra. The actor, who hails from a small town in Bankura, has worked in movies like Zameen, Tango Charlie, Mangal Pandey: The Rising, Talaash, Bhootnath Returns, Sameer, Roar- Tigers of the Sundarbans, Madholal Keep Walking, etc. Dutta performance received praise from audiences and critics, and the actor was delighted to share his reaction with us.
Dutta said, “I am a very optimistic person. Initially, such movies may get fewer screens in comparison to commercial films, but as they reach out to the public, word-of-mouth publicity starts working and screens gradually increase. There are few good examples where screens are increased gradually because of word-of-mouth publicity. I think we should be optimistic. I believe in the coexistence of both types of films, be they commercial or critically acclaimed."
He added, "Post-theatre release, our producer Pradeep Rangwani also has a plan to showcase this film in schools. The film may get a wider reach through such initiatives and can spread awareness about the right to education."
Subrat Dutta has worked with almost every big star of Bollywood, like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, etc. He strongly believes in playing bigger roles in smaller films rather than smaller roles in big films. Although his move towards an acting career was completely unplanned, once he entered Bollywood, he never looked back and left many memorable performances behind. He will soon be seen in “The Kerala Story,” director Sudipto Sen’s next. Apart from that, movies like "T for Taj Mahal” and “The Flowers of the Mountain” are also to be released soon.
