Hollywood flick The Pope's Exorcist has opened bigger than the Bollywood movie Gumraah at the Indian box office. The horror saga opened to 1.35-1.40 crore nett in India, whereas Gumraah clocked approximately 1.10 crore nett on day one.Julius Avery's supernatural horror drama, The Pope's Exorcist, saw the biggest opening for any Hollywood horror film in India in the post-pandemic era. The film is having an early release in India before opening in the North American markets next week.Aditya Roy Kapur and Mrunal Thakur's thriller has been struggling at the ticket windows throughout the day. Gumraah appealed to fewer people, but the numbers were even lower than expected. The South remake jinx continues after Selfiee, Bholaa and now Gumraah.
