The Sabarmati Report opening weekend:
Vikrant Massey, Raashi Khanna, and Riddhi Dogra's The Sabarmati Report had a decent opening weekend at the Indian box office. The film made over Rs. 6 crore nett at the Indian box office in its opening weekend, with the expected growth on the second and third days.
The Sabarmati Report opened with Rs. 1.30 crore nett on Friday, which was a little low start but pretty decent for this genre. The film showed a good jump of over 60% on day two and earned Rs. 2.10 crore nett. On Sunday, it was expected to touch the Rs. 3 crore nett mark, and as per early estimates, it seems that the film has managed to touch the expected figures.
Below are the collections of The Sabarmati Report in India:
Friday - 1.30 crore nett
Saturday - 2.10 crore nett
Sunday - 3 crore nett
Total - 6.40 crore nett 6.70 crore gross

It remains to be seen how it performs on the weekdays, as such films are highly dependent on strong hold. Massey's 12th Fail had a similar weekend and then went on to collect over Rs. 50 crore in its lifetime numbers; will The Sabarmati Report be able to repeat that? It's very difficult since the appeal is pretty smaller this time. The political and investigation angles restrict it to some levels, but the film can still do decent business if it shows good hold in the coming days. Amidst all this, now even hon. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has tweeted about the film, so we never know what can happen in the coming days since it's election hysteria in Mumbai and Maharashtra.
