Mission Impossible star Tom Cruise has reportedly been roped in to play the character Jack Reacher in the forthcoming film One Shot, which is based on British author Lee Child's book with the same name.
Fans of the Jack Reacher series are however set to be disappointed with the casting decision as the character Jack Reacher, a former army officer turned drifter vigilante is a six foot five blond giant whereas Tom Cruise is quite short and dark-haired.
The movie is based on an incident wherein a sniper is arrested for randomly killing people in an urban area with a high powered rifle and his former colleague, ex-military policeman Jack Reacher is called in to investigate the matter. English actress Rosamund Pike is also starring in the movie and will play the role of a defence lawyer representing the arrested sniper.
