Kantara Chapter 1 is currently at the filming stage, and we have learned that the producers were unable to find a space large enough for the massive set the director had in his mind. The source from the production confirmed the update and also added that they have found a solution.
According to a source close to the film's production, the makers faced a major challenge when it came to finding a studio large enough to accommodate the massive sets required for the historical epic. So, they found a new way to make it happen.
“The makers were unable to find a studio large enough to build the massive sets of the Kadamba Empire, leading them to construct one of India’s biggest studios in Kundapur for Kantara: Chapter 1,” revealed the insider while explaining the matter.

Located in the coastal town of Kundapur, Karnataka, the studio set the stage for a stunning visual portrayal of the ancient empire. From intricate palace structures to vast landscapes, every corner of the set was designed with painstaking detail to immerse the audience in a world long gone.
Meanwhile, the makers of Kantara: Chapter 1 recently unveiled an official poster from the film and officially announced the theatrical release date for the film. Kantara: Chapter 1 is a prequel to the 2022 smash hit Kantara, directed by and starring Rishab Shetty in the lead role. The folklore thriller with a spiritual phenomenon is all set for its prequel, Kantara: Chapter 1, releasing on the Gandhi Jayanti holiday, October 2, 2025.
