Universal Annouces A Live-Action Remake Of Animated Franchise 'How To Train Your Dragon' For March 2025 —

Universal Pictures will make a live-action remake of one of their most beloved animated franchises, How To Train Your Dragon. Produced by Dean DeBlois, Marc Platt, and Adam Siegel, the film is set for a theatrical release on March 14, 2025.Set in three parts, How to Train Your Dragon started in 2010 as a computer-animated action fantasy film loosely based on the 2003 book of the same name by Cressida Cowell and was produced by DreamWorks Animation. Set in a mythical Viking village, the film is about Hiccup, an undersized teen wishing to become a dragon slayer, who befriends a furry dragon.Dean DeBlois, who directed all three animated feature flicks in the franchise, will helm the live-action remake for Universal Pictures. DeBlois' three animated features have been successful at the box office, with combined earnings of over $1.6 billion at global ticket sales.
