'Ved' Becomes The Highest Grossing Marathi Movie of The Year; Second Riteish Deshmukh Film To Do So —

Riteish Deshmukh, Genelia Deshmukh, and Jiya Shankar starrer Ved is breaking records in the second weekend. The film has scored the second biggest week 1 total of all time and has now shattered the second weekend records for Marathi movies.

First Week - 20.67 crore

Second Friday - 2.52 crore

Second Saturday - 4.53 crore

Second Sunday - 5. 70 crore (Record)

Total - 33.42 crore

Ved has also registered the highest single day total for any Marathi movie, becoming the first Marathi movie to shatter 5 crore and 5.70 crore in a single day. On Sunday, Riteish Deshmukh's directorial debut emerged as the highest grossing Marathi movie of the year, surpassing Pawankhind (28 crore).

This is the second time that a Riteish Deshmukh starrer has been crowned as the highest grosser of the year, after Lai Bhaari, which was the biggest film of 2014. Ved is now chasing the lifetime total of Lai Bhaari (37 crore), and will smash it on Tuesday.
