Venom The Last Dance hits $8.5m in previews; heading for $180m weekend

Tom Hardy's third flick as Venom, Venom The Last Dance, is off to a decent start in the previews, but things aren't looking encouraging as far as the trade projections go. The film earned approx. $8.5 million in previews at the North American box office, which started at 2 p.m. at 3,452 locations. 

Venom 4 is looking for $180 million opening weekend at the global box office, while the domestic market is set to underperform. The previous film of the franchise, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, had opened with $171.6 million in 2021, during the pandemic effect.

The Last Dance is predicted to have the lowest opening for the trilogy at the North American box office, while the international markets are expected to fare much better. The film has earned approximately . $35.8 million worldwide as of Thursday. The rotten tomatoes score for the film is unexpectedly low as the tomatometer is stuck with a 37% score, giving it a "rotten" tag.

Directed by Kelly Marcel, the film stars Tom Hardy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach, and Stephen Graham.
