Veteran Director, Producer And Lyricist Saawan Kumar Tak Passes Away Due To Lungs Infection

Saawan Kumar Tak, a veteran filmmaker, producer, and lyricist, passed away in Mumbai today. He was 96 years old and took his last breath at Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. Saawan Kumar was admitted to the hospital for the treatment of a lung infection and breathing issues.

Saawan Kumar was in critical condition for the last two days and died due to illness. His nephew told the media about his death. Bollywood superstar Salman Khan offered condolences on Twitter, saying, "May u rest in peace my dear Sawaan ji. Have always loved n respected u."

Saawan Kumar had contributed to Bollywood as an all rounder - Director, Producer and Lyricist. He directed many Hindi films, including successful films like Saajan Bin Suhagan, Souten, Souten Ki Beti, Sanam Bewafa, and Bewaffa Se Waffa. As a lyricist, one of his most popular songs remains Zindagi Pyar Ka Geet Hai.
