Vidya Balan changed clothes in a car for Kahaani :
Vidya Balan and Sujoy Ghosh's classic thriller, "Kahaani" (2012), was made with a low budget of around Rs. 18-20 crore (including promotions and prints). The film went on to collect Rs. 57 crore nett at the domestic box office and Rs. 91 crore gross at the worldwide box office, emerging as a "HIT." But did you know that the filmmaker didn't even have a budget to get a vanity car, leaving the lead actress with no option but to change her clothes in a car? It sounds unbelievable, but it's true. The director himself confirmed it during a recent interview with a news portal.
During an interview with Mashable India, Ghosh stated, "After the failure of Aladin, Vidya could have easily said no to Kahaani. But she is a person of her word. That generation of actors, from Amitabh Bachchan to Shah Rukh Khan, are very zubaan ka pakka (true to their word). Vidya also falls under that category. She stuck to Kahaani."
The filmmaker went on to reveal, "You have no idea. We didn’t have any budget to even afford a vanity van. We didn’t have the luxury of pausing a shot because we were on a tight budget. So, every time she had to change, we used to cover her Innova with a black cloth in the middle of the road, and she used to change inside and come out for a shoot."
