Vijay's 'Varisu' Surpasses Ajith's 'Thunivu' At The Indian Box Office —

One of the biggest clashes in the Tamil cinema industry took place this Pongal when Varisu and Thunivu released in the same week. Vijay's Varisu opened slightly lower than Ajith's Thunivu, but has managed to edge past the latter one over the extended weekend.

Thalapathy Vijay's Varisu has crossed the 75 crore mark at the Indian box office, whereas Thala Ajith's Thunivu is close to the 70 crore mark. Together, these films have managed to give a huge weekend at the Tamil Nadu box office, with collections over 90 crore.
