Vivek Ranjan Agnihotri announced The Delhi Files right after the huge success of The Kashmir Files. However, the film didn't go on floors immediately, as planned, and was pushed since Agnihotri got busy with The Vaccine War.

Finally, the filmmaker gave an official update on The Delhi Files filming and release date. He confirmed on his social media that he will take The Delhi Files on floors in 2024 and will be looking to release it in 2025.
