Will Smith Turned Down 'Django Unchained' Role

Hollywood actor Will Smith recently revealed that he had been approached to play the character of slave-turned-avenger Django in Quentin Tarantino's Western Django Unchained. Smith however added that he had turned down the role as he felt it was not the lead role.

Smith also revealed that he was busy with Men In Black III at the time when Tarantino was ready to start shooting for Django Unchained, so he passed on the role. The role later went to Jamie Foxx.

Starring Foxx and Christoph Waltz, Django Unchained also starred Samuel L Jackson and Leonardo DiCaprio in pivotal roles.
