publive-imageIt's been a year and a half ever since Paul Walker died in a car accident in California; but for his friends, family and co-stars from the Fast and Furious franchise, the pain is still fresh.

Wiz Khalifa, Charlie Puth and Lindsey Stirling took to the stage to perform See You Again at the Las Vegas MGM Grand Garden Arena at the Billboard Music Awards on Sunday night.

Video from the Furious 7 film played in the background while a barefoot Wiz Khalifa let loose on stage. By the time the song ended with a clip from Furious 7 playing on the video screen in back, pretty much everybody was in tears. The performance received a standing ovation.

The Billboard Music Awards were co-hosted by Ludacris and Chrissy Teigen and featured performances from artists including Meghan Trainor, Fall Out Boy, Mariah Carey and Ed Sheeran.

The ballad, from the Furious 7 soundtrack, is a tribute to the Fast and Furious franchise's star Paul Walker who died in a car accident in 2013. The track has been topping the Billboard 100 charts in recent times.

"If one day the speed kills me, don't cry. Because I was smiling.” were the words of Paul Walker. He may not be with us but his memories live forever.
